B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology with Research Application Form at UU 2027

Biotechnology refers to application of biological tools and scientific techniques to animal, plant and microbial species for their improvement (qualitative as well as quantitative) alongwith development of process and products w.r.t health, environment, agriculture, industry, etc. In recent past biotechnology has been identified as a prominent field of lifescience owing to its interdisciplinary approach and widespread applications.

B.Sc. Biotechnology with Research (4 Year Programme) will specifically focus on imparting research skills. The program will also accomplish exposure to industrial practices, protocols through training and workshop so as to identify skills required to pursue career in research industries. Students with simultaneously acquire research skills through experimental learning via designing and executing protocols, data analysis and interpretation, data presentation and scientific writing.

10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology. Minimum 50% aggregate marks for general category and 45% aggregate marks in case of SC/ST category.

After perusing B.Sc. biotechnology students can avail widespread career options depending upon their interest. Scientist, biochemical analyst, various opportunities in industries (production, quality control, quality assurance, marketing) including pharmaceuticals, fermentation industry, food industry and others, entrepreneurship/startups are among common career options. After successful completion of B.Sc. biotechnology students also become eligible to pursue higher studies and various competitive examinations.
